The company

The global EY organisation is one of the market leaders in audit, tax and legal advisory, strategy and transactions, and consulting. It continuously looks for students and highly qualified graduates from computer science, business and engineering.

The challenge

The war for talent is fiercest around MINT and business students, where companies, industries and regions all compete for the best graduates from German universities. EY wanted to sustainably increase the number of high-quality applications for its various entry-level positions and convert its strong employer brand into applicants.

The solution

Since 2020, EY has used Pathwize's formats to reach students in an audience-specific way and activate them toward applying. A pre-matching system meant mostly students from EY's target group visited the digital career-event stand, where a broad team ran video chats, expert talks and Q&A rounds, followed by targeted mailings only to people who had already engaged.

The results

The career event delivered strong benchmarks of highly qualified talent through the pre-matching system, and the follow-up email reached a 44.8% open rate and a 15.8% click rate. EY won interns and graduates from the fields it cared about, and students responded warmly to the informative, interactive format.
